Actually, this is not a post about why I sell Pure Romance. If you want to know why I sell Pure Romance see my About Me tab above. (I intend to post a link, but I already know I will forget.)
Anyway, if you are doing this or any other direct sale business, telling “your story” is considered a necessary part of your presentation and often leaves consultants stumped. It’s like a conversion story. If you can’t tell a tale where the sky opened up and you were knocked off your horse by a bright light and blinded, it just doesn’t seem like a much of a story.
Never fear, I have broken down the Why story into a super easy formula. I call it: I was. I wanted. I thought. I found.
I was – Think of your life before you started your business. Where were you in your life? Were you employed? Staying a home? In debt? Happy? Unhappy? Did you just move?
“I was a stay at home mom.”
“I was in a dead end job.”
“I was in a lot of debt.”
“I was in college.”
I wanted – For some reason, you were unsatisfied with how things were going in your life right then and decided you needed a change. What was that you wanted?
“I wanted to make some money on the side so I could afford extras for my kids.”
“I wanted to buy a house and needed to be making more.”
“I wanted a way to pay off my debts.”
“I needed a job while I was in school.”
I thought – Why did you think that your direct sales business was the answer to getting what you wanted?
“I thought it would be so much fun to sell a product I loved.”
“I liked that the only limit on my income was how much I wanted to work.”
“I thought it would be a great way to make money but still have the flexibility for school.”
I found – How did you experience with your business go above and beyond you expectations? How did it give you what you were looking for and more?
“I found that it was not only fun it was lucrative and I made lots of new friends!”
“I thought it would take me a while to be able to quit my bad job, but I found I was able to replace my income through my business in three months!”
“I found that I was paying off my debts even fast than I thought possible and have developed the discipline and income to never have to go through that again!”
“It gave me extra income while I was in school and I decided when I was done that the experience of working for myself was so rewarding that I decided to do it full time!”
Put it all together – Hit these four points and you have the perfect on point Why presentation. You can add more information of course, but this also gives you a shortened version you can share on the fly.
My husband and I had just bought our first home and I was looking for a way to pay off more of our college loans and debts. I wanted something that was inspiring and made good money, but would also allow me to stay home with our young son. Because Pure Romance allowed me the flexibility of setting my own schedule and I was already interested in women’s health, I thought it would be a good match for me. After five years in the business,I have found that this experience of running my own Pure Romance business has done so much more for me than just helping me make money. The friends I have made and the confidence it has given me, not just in business, but in my life has been amazing. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Guess this actually was a post about why I sell Pure Romance. Let me know how this format works for you!
