Going Beyond Date Targeting
A year or so ago (has it been that long?!), I talked about targeting dates on your calendar that you wanted to book parties for.
We were at Pure Romance training yesterday in Cleveland and our instructor introduced a step further in this “Put it out into the universe” concept: Starting Facebook events on every date you plan to party – even if you don’t have a hostess for the date yet.
Start the event and the parties will come
I immediately ran home and threw up events for the first 3 weeks of January. These are the best but most often missed weeks for booking parties. It’s the beginning of the busy season, but because people have a bad habit of taking December off and coasting through the end of the year with their business, they are often caught by surprise and don’t lurch into action until mid to late January. Let’s not repeat this, shall we? Let’s assume WE WILL HAVE PARTIES those weeks, start the events and go find hostesses now.
Here’s the reasons this idea is particularly genius
- It puts you in the mindset that YOU WILL HAVE PARTIES those dates. You’re telling the universe you are ready to party.
- Like my “date targeting” previously mentioned, it shows you WHERE you want (ARE!) going to book parties.
- You don’t have to stress about setting these events up after you find your hostess. The second you book, you can add her to the event and have her start adding all of her friends before she’s even had a chance to sober up from too much egg nog and pheromone balm. Done and done.
Throwing it down here. Go to your Facebook RIGHT NOW and start events for every day you want to party between now and January 15th. From now until those dates are booked, claim they are the only dates you have available until the end of March. If someone wants to party with you, these are THE DATES. No others exist. Sorry, February and March, you are not part of my universe again until the first half of January looks as stuffed as a Thanksgiving turkey.
